Ravens trade Pro Bowl CB to the Eagles for draft pick

Fresh off a dominant ‘Thursday Night Football’ win over the Miami Dolphins, the Baltimore Ravens are making moves ahead of the trade deadline.

Baltimore is trading cornerback Jaire Alexander and a seventh-round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft to the Philadelphia Eagles for a sixth-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Baltimore signed Alexander in June after the two-time Pro Bowl cornerback was cut by the Green Bay Packers. That signing came days after Alexander’s former college teammate at Louisville, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, asked the franchise’s front office to go get him.

Alexander, 28, has played sparingly for the Ravens this season. He’s played a total of 61 snaps in two games: Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills and Week 5 against the Houston Texans.

Baltimore went with a starting tandem of Nate Wiggins and Chidobe Awuzie at the outside cornerback positions to start the season. They’ve since moved safety Kyle Hamilton to the nickel cornerback position, moving Marlon Humphrey over to start in Awuzie’s place. That change left Alexander further down the depth chart.

He joins a Philadelphia defense that could use reinforcements at cornerback following multiple injuries. Starter Adoree’ Jackson suffered a concussion in Week 7 and hasn’t played since.

The Eagles may rely on Alexander’s help as Jackson recovers. He’ll be in a good place to perform; Philadelphia’s other starting cornerbacks are some of the best in the league. Pro Football Focus rates nickel Cooper DeJean as the No. 4 cornerback in the NFL out of 113 qualifying players. Outside cornerback Quinyon Mitchell’s No. 32 out of 113.

Philadelphia is on its bye this week. The Eagles’ next game is Week 10 on the road for ‘Monday Night Football’ against Green Bay, Alexander’s former team.
